Men in science essay

Electricity is often a word applied to describe several physical phenomena as a result of the presence and flow of electric charges. Its discovery dates back from ancient Greek and Parthian civilizations. Several scientists have tried to understand these phenomena. They did extensive research and one discovery leads after another.

Many scientists studied electricity and had been able to develop the electric theory. One of the most notable names in this field are Charles Coulomb, Andre Ampere, Alessandro Volta, and George Simon Ohm.

The development of this theory led to several inventions that created human lives easier.

Electricity

Electricity will be the phenomenon associated from the presence and flow of electric charges in a circuit. This term was derived during the Greek word elektron which ways amber. Greeks discovered that once amber is rubbed having a fur, it is in a position to attract light objects for instance feathers William Gilbert, an English scientist, derived the term electricity inside the Greek word for amber. He can be known as the father of modern day electricity.

Static electricity may be the first electrical phenomena to be studied. The amber phenomenon is mainly because of static charges in the fur. When the amber was rubbed into the fur, it became charged and it was able to attract light objects.

The word electricity is used in many related concepts that are vital parts from the electric theory. These concepts are commonly identified by these terms: electric potential, electric modern day, electric field electric energy, electric power, and electric charge.

Basic electrical theory created greater impact over a significance of electricity within the contemporary society. The uncomplicated electrical theory includes static electricity, electrical power, electric contemporary, electric resistance, and electromotive force. Static electricity is an electric charge that builds up in an object which might be produced by friction Electrical power will be the rate of generating electrical jobs measured in watts Electric modern-day may be the flow of electric charge via a conductor per second the unit used is Ampere. Electric resistance is the opposition of the material to modern day flow measured in Ohms . Voltage could be the difference of electrical capability among the a couple of points of an electrical circuit measured in volts.

History of Electrical Theory

The oldest written evidence of electrification dates back 600 B.C. by Thales of Miletus. He wrote that amber, once rubbed using a fur, is in a position to attract light objects. This knowledge on the other hand did not get much interest of the people until English scientist William Gilbert in 1600 AD described the electrification of substances. He also coined the term electricity during the Greek term elekton for amber. Gilbert became the `father of current electricity.

Otto von Guericke invented a machine that made static electricity in 1660 having a ball of sulfur which is rotated by a single hand and rubbed in the other hand. Many successors produced improvements in this crude machine developing it into a capable source of static electricity. Guericke 's invention was the...
