The Kiss I chose the marble forge of The Kiss by the French sculptor Auguste Rodin (1840-1917).The Kiss is an 1889 marble sculpture depicts embraced couple. The dimensions of this sculpture are (Height- 181.5 cm ; W. 112.5 cm ; D. 117 cm) and completed in 1882.Marble Sculpture is the art of hunger marble to create three-dimensional form from marble and it is one of the oldest of arts. Marble is a metamorphic rock derived from limestone which is natural rock, having excellent surface translucency as compared to human skin , thats why it gives marble sculpture a visual shrewdness .The surface is very soft and easy for carving , operative , polishing , refining but marble doesnt feature holding even , it absorbs skin oils when touched. Sculpture work begins with picking of stone for craving. Generally ,shape of statue begin by forming a simulation of clay or wax , then copying .Carver begins by knocking off and final form is attained by development tools called Rasps and Rifflers.

The final stage is polishing by using sandpaper. The Kiss was originally , titled Francesca da Rimini , as it depicts a Italian woman who fall in love of her saves younger brother while reading a story.
