In my essay I will be discussing the substance abuse of pictograms in everyday modern invigoration and how important they give the sack be to different cultures. Pictographs were the first forms of compose used it is where writing started, without letters or alphabets in a specific order, sooner it was stylized pictographs. The earliest pictographs were those found in caves or on rock walls from ancient times probably done by homosapians. Cuneiform is the earliest known writing in the world, it was not a series of letters following each other in a sequence like the alphabet we usually used today. It originated from the Sumerians of Southern Iraq During the middle Uriq period.



It began as a pictograph which is an ideogram that communicates an idea of an object in a stylized form, this writing was commonly known in the middle east at the time. Cuneiform developed more a old Mesopotamian chronicle system, which developed into the cuneiform documents being written onto clay tablets with a stylus, the marks left by the stylus were wedge shaped, which is were the digit came from the Latin word for wedge being cuneus. The writing became more stylized by use of more linear drawing as it progressed. Writing was very useful because it allowed for communication, without it where would we be today? It allows us to communicate things of importance e.g. religion, laws, stories, etc. and we can document the past and present with it.
