Niccolò Machiavelli (Niccolò di Bernardo dei Italian Machiavelli) (born May 3, 1469, Florence, d June 21, 1527, Florence) was a diplomat, civil servant, political and filiosof Italian writer.
Biography
Born in the small village of San Casciano in Val di Pesa, at about fifteen kilometers from Florence on May 3, 1469, parole of Bernardo Machiavelli (lawyer belonging to a branch of an influential families impoverished Florentine) and Bartolomeii di Stefano Nelli, both religions families and noble origins but with fewer resources because of the fathers debt. Entered government service amongst 1469 and 1512 as an accountant, has had success after the proclamation of the Florentine country in 1498. He was secretary of the board of ten muckle who conducted the diplomatical negotiations and overseeing military operations republic. Among his assignments have included visits to the cut king (in 1504, 1510-1511), the Holy See (1506), and the German king (1507-1508). During his diplomatic missions met many Italian principles and was able to study political strategies, specially those of Cesare Borgia, who was concerned at that time, the expansion of its possessions in central Italy. From 1503 until 1506, Machiavelli reorganize the military defense of the Florentine Republic.

In 1512, the Florentine Medici family regained power over Florence and the republic was dissolved, Machiavelli was removed from office and arrested briefly. He was enwrapped in Florence, being accused of an alleged plot against the new-fangled government.
