Throughout my childhood to present, neither of my parents have been involved in my life all that much. It was hard growing up without them around, notwithstanding the few memories I have, I treasure them. I can relate to the nine year elderly boy Oskar dealing with him family, losses and complications in his life.
Oskar and his dad were a lot alike; they understood each other and position a lot alike. But when Oskars dad died on 9/11 everything changed. Oskar was severely depressed, but never halt thinking to the highest degree his dad. He made it seem that it is fall in to lose than to never have had. Oskar knows that people come and go in life, so he makes sure his memories are difference to be with him forever. Even though Oskar has to grow up without his dad, he knows that he will always be watching everyplace him.



Oskar can remember all the stories his dad has told him and the sound of his vocalize while he told them, and having those in his head is much better to have than nothing at all.
Many people acquiret agree that its better to lose than to never have had. In their mind they would rather never have had anything, just so they wouldnt have to get woe if they lost them. Although the person wouldnt have to deal with the depression, they wont ever have the happy memories either. There are times when you want to remember that good times that were spend with that person, so you would be glad you had the chance to have them in your life, rather than not at all.
