Allusions: suffer juvenile World
Aldous Huxley was a master of allusions. Which he utilize in Brave in the buff World, an anti-utopian fabrication. The allusions to the Bible, history, and literature found in this young answer develop an overall infrastanding and message of Huxleys novel for the reader.
Maybe the least obvious of Huxleys allusions are to the Bible. Although he never uses any scripture, Huxley uses many great deal and events as scriptural symbols. basin the Savage is a Christ figure in Brave New World. His name could arguably allude to derriere the Baptist, but his actions suggest that he is a symbol for Jesus. John escapes to the lighthouse at the end of the novel, beats himself badly, and stands with his arms outstretched against a large rock. The crucifix position that he is in alludes to the crucifixion of Jesus. John punished himself for the world just as Jesus sacrificed himself to save mankind. Also, John is the outcast of Brave New World. Just as Jesus was on Earth, John is dissimilar from those around him. He refuses the drugs(soma) and random sex, things from which Jesus separated himself. on with the soma and sex in Brave New World, heat content Ford is also worshipped. He is a god to the community, and they used his name with reverence.
In chapter three, the Director quotes Ford, saying, History is bunk meat people could not be taught. People in the novel would say, Oh, my Ford! or Ford, no!, these expressions are like people today saying the Lords name in vain. Another thing the people revered was the Solidarity Service. Just as there were twelve disciples in the Bible, there were twelve people involved in these services of unity. These gatherings allude to the Bible, calling for believers to be unified in Christ.
