Chem. 317

Title: The tax deduction of Chloropentaamminecobalt(III) chloride and Linkage Isomerization to Further Synthesis Pentamminenitrocobalt(III) chloride

Experimental:

Ammonium chloride (.0467 mol) was diluted in c oncentrated sedimentary ammonium hydroxide (15 ml) in a 125ml Erlenmeyer flask. CoCl26H2O (.0210 mol) was because added to the ammonium chloride solution. The ammonium chloride solution was heated and stirred while 30% enthalpy peroxide (4 mL) was added drop wise. The response was monitored and removed from the heat once the effervescence ceased, and then was allowed to cool. Concentrated hydrochloric acid was added while hotness and stirring the reaction for 15 legal proceeding. The fruit was then allowed to cool and was vacuum filtered to a maroon color, while being serve with water, 6M hydrochloric acid, ethanol, and acetone. Then allow the product to dry for five minutes on the funnel. The resulting product was [Co(NH3)5Cl]Cl2 and yield was 4.453g (.017 mol, 84.8%)
Distilled water (25mL) was added to concentrated ammonia (5mL) in a 125mL Erlenmeyer flask. The reaction was heated and stirred, then [Co(NH3)5Cl]Cl2 (.0060 mol) was added to the solution. The reaction mixture was vacuum filtered, and the filtrate was cooled in an screwball bath. 6M HCl was then added until the solution was neutral to litmus.

NaNO2 (.0217 mol) was added to the solution and was allowed to react for five minutes. 6M HCl was added belatedly to the solution, and then allowed to cool for one hour in an ice bath. The reaction was vacuum filtered to a orange color, and washed with water, ethanol, and ether. The product was allowed to dry for five minutes on the funnel. The resulting product was [Co(NH3)5ONO]Cl2 ground on the collected data and yield was 1.215g (.00465 mol, 77.19%)
