Fountain Creek is about 45 miles in duration and is a natural ecosystem that is currently being restored. The creek everywhere the years has been damaged due to population increase and the go through becoming urbanized. The vegetation surrounding the creek is dying finish due to foot traffic and the wearing of the soil. Also, the fish inside the creek are not as abundant as they once were. History
Fountain Creek has been called many different name like Rio de San Beunaventura , Rio de Saramento and Fontain qui Bouile. It was primarily used for travelers passing by for pee to drink and bathe in. It was once an unbroken ecosystem, with less contaminant than it now has. People over the centuries have polluted it to what it is today, and not only that but civilization has grown immensely. With the population inflating the creek has become more and more polluted. More roads, homes and buildings have had to be built with this population increase. Also, with this increase more runoff of the kink is getting into the storm drains and contaminating the creek.
Urbanization
Urbanization has damaged the creek by polluting the body of waters with the construction of roads, parking lots and rooftops. overspill of this construction is going into the storm drains and right into the creek, causing erosion of developing soils and increasing the risk of flooding. With this increase the soil of this creek is becoming worse and leave alone continue on this path if something is not done soon.
